Lessons - COVID-19 Update
I have taught music lessons for guitar and harmonica in the Rutland, Vermont area since 2002.
During the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic period, I hope that you, your family and friends remain safe and healthy. I am now teaching private guitar lessons via Zoom and Skype web-conferencing.
In September 2019, I had started teaching private guitar lessons at the Godnick Center in Rutland, through the Rutland Recreation Dept. After having taught some group guitar lessons through Rutland Rec Dept. since 2002, I switched to teaching private lessons.
Earlier this year, once the need for social distancing arose, the Godnick Center closed until further notice. So I have switched to teaching online lessons via Zoom and Skype.
I look forward to resuming guitar lessons at the Godnick Center, once it is safe to do so again. At that point, I intend to continue offering online guitar lessons over Zoom and Skype as well.
Recording - COVID-19 Update
Since late September, I have been recording (while socially distancing and wearing mask) some of my guitar arrangements of hymns and Spirituals with the help of local musician Phil Henry as my audio engineer. I am recording at Grace Congregational Church in Rutland, VT, in the upstairs room behind the balcony in the Sanctuary. That room has a high rounded ceiling, which makes for a nice resonant sound for acoustic guitar.
At this point, I have recorded eight hymns and am about halfway through the project. I hope to release a CD of mostly instrumental hymns and Spirituals in 2021. Although this collection will be mostly instrumental music and my fingerstyle guitar arrangements, I have included some singing and harmonica melodies on some tunes for the ending verse / variation.
Performances - COVID-19 Update
During the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic period, I have participated in some local online open mics via Zoom web-conferencing. It was a good opportunity to reconnect with folks nearby who were staying safely at home, especially during the colder winter months. It was fun to hear other local musicians and the see some new and familiar faces in the Zoom audience.
I look forward to being able to play music in-person again at local open mics, as well as other venues like the winter Farmers Market.
Stay safe and healthy!
