The Capstone Project I developed for my master's degree at Marlboro Graduate Center was a Music Theory Web Service (MTWS). After I graduated from Marlboro in 2007 (as time has permitted), I have continued to develop my prototype guitar neck interface and web application. Basically, this is a software tool to help music students take "interactive" online lessons. You can ask music theory "questions" and get "answers" in the form of dots on the guitar fretboard. In addition, this software tool is designed to help music teachers (like myself) provide online lessons for their students. In the future, I plan to utilize this web application to provide more guitar lessons for my students on this website.
In the meantime, you can get an idea of how this web app / interface might work. Here is a prototype for a Guitar Note Explorer. The Description tab and Instructions tab will give you more information on how to use the Guitar Note Explorer.
If you do "test drive" my prototype for the Guitar Note Explorer, and you have any feedback or suggestions for features, please contact me. I would be interested in hearing your feedback and ideas! Thank you!
